The Abbreviation

I sometimes come across an intriguing abbreviation in my reading: It is ff. or "and following" or "and the following pages." Hidden within the abbreviation is the author saying, "I know I've cited page xx from Mr./Ms. Scholar's book, but keep going. There's more good stuff that comes after that I don't have time or space to expand upon here!"

This blog is presented in the spirit of taking "and following" seriously.

My hope is to take our Study Group to the next level. We will meet for the Truth Project study for the next 12 weeks, or so. We will talk about what we learn and what we think and what we feel during our time together. But--with the advent of the Internet--we can stay connected through this blog for the rest of the week. We can share our thoughts and continue the conversation.

I plan to use this space to point to other resources or as an expansion of the ideas discussed in class. We can use this space:

• For announcements
• To work out, in writing, incomplete thoughts.
• To give us something to talk about the next time we meet.
• To have some fun and to break things up a bit.
• To share life.
